So today we have a look at the high end market: expensive or cheap? Like most things in life it is relative. Compared to Bangkok, Hongkong or Singapore you can buy properties in Pattaya for petty money but we are a resort market without a central business district with high paid jobs in banking or finance,headquaters of globally operating corporations etc.You don't need to live in Pattaya (but if you don't you might miss out on something)
Some Bangkok Thais think that not only the return on investment in Bangkok is too low as land prices went through the roof and a sq.m. in a low rise condo can cost 200 000 Baht.
The big question: is there any increase in value? Capital gain is always an important part of the equation while investing in properties. A few years ago I saw an interview with a real estate agent in London, during that time property prices
But this high end market will get a boost, not only by Chinese buyers: Thais from Bangkok, who have been investing in lower priced properties for holidays or rental investment, are now willing to buy10 and more M Baht houses around Silver Lake, spending 100 000 Baht and more per sq.m. in luxurious condos like RIVIERA, Reflection and others.
went to a new high-but there was no business, very few transactions. Even DINKS (double income no kids) could not finance a property any more. Thinking Big: Pattaya will be connected to Bangkok via a high speed train and becoming a suburb of the capital. And you will see more and more office buildings as well!
